I have been into physical and mental fitness all my life and now that I have reached the golden years it is even more essential that I keep active physically and mentally. I saw this 190 page paperback (Keep Your Brain Alive by Lawrence C. Katz and Manning Rubin) on Amazon for a bargain price and I immediately purchased it.I have just finished reading this wonderful book and found the exercises and advice easy to follow. This book has 83 neurobic exercises to help keep your brain active and help prevent memory loss. The nine chapters cover the following material: Neurobic: the new science of brain exercises, how the brain works, how Neurobics works, starting and ending the day brain exercises, brain exercises while commuting, at work, while at the market, at meal times and at leisure. There are also some end notes on the above material.The real value of this book is that it provides some interesting exercises to keep your mind, active, healthy and strong. It also suggests many other ways to exercise your mind in order to improve yourself. If you are seeking a practical and informative book that will help you increase your mental fitness you should check out this book. I found it a fascinating read.Rating: 5 Stars. Joseph J. I heard about this book from a memory care nurse. It came highly recommended and easy to use. I can't say how much it has helped but I know it's important to "use it or lose it". That was my purpose in getting the book.

A lot of information/ideas are repeated multiple times throughout the book. I def. read better books about this topic.My summary of this book: break up your routines and be creative and adventurous, this will help keep your brain active.

Most of the exercises are redundant. For the price though it doesn't hurt. I think I actually started doing only four exercises found in this book to help with my memory loss. While I can't say whether it's working or not it is fun doing these little exercises everyday.

I found this book in my grandmothers things after she passed away. I thought it was very informative and useful with interactive brain exercises. I ordered it for a family member, who has just been diagnosed with dementia. He has found it very useful, he told me he read it from cover to back and likes the exercises. In combination with his medications, supplements and this book, he appears to more lucid.

this is the second book I bought.
